Easter Gift

On Easter Tuesday we were favored with a brief visit from Fr. Hector Perez, pastor of St. Stephen's Church in Pensacola. Father surprised us with a generous gift of a splendid custom-made cope, with matching stole and humeral veil. This gift was made possible by the kindness of one of Father's devoted benefactors and the diligence of a skilful seamstress. We feel honored to be entrusted with such a glorious vestment to be used for Eucharistic adoration and Benediction. Fittingly enough, it was worn for the first time on Divine Mercy Sunday.

Mother Margaret Mary carefully unwraps the intriguing package as aspirants Carroll and Myriam, Sr. June (a postulant), Sr, Michele Marie and Mother Rose Marie look on expectantly.

The community reacts in wonder at the ornate handwork that graces the elegant vestments. Sr. Mary Anthony and Jan (another aspirant) can be seen in this picture.

Sr. Maria Theresa helps to display the beauty of the velvet trim on the satin-lined cope, stole and veil, truly a labor of love and a gift of immeasurable value.
